REPORT on 4th ANNUAL STH BURNETT CHAROLAIS & CHARBRAY BULL SALE 31/07/08 A quality line up of Charolais and Charbray bulls attracted spirited competition at the 4th Annual Sth Burnett Bull Sale at Coolabunia Saleyards on Thursday 31st July, 2008. 51 Charolais bulls averaged $3167 selling to a top of $6,000 to achieve a 96% clearance. 13 Charbray bulls averaged $2,557 selling to a top of $4,750. Buyers came from far afield including Clermont, Injune, Mungallala, Dalby, Nth Burnett, Clifton, Dayboro, Brisbane Valley, Crows Nest and local areas. Topping the sale was a red factor Charolais, account the Blanch Family’s “Silverwood” Stud, Nanango at $6,000 sold to Ian Price’s “Moongool” Stud at Yuleba. The Silverwood bulls averaged $3,583. Topping the averages was the Ferguson’s “Karinda” Stud at Kumbia averaging $4,333 to a top of $4,500, twice. Another very attractive line from newly settled breeders from NSW, was Steve Lee and Sue Grogan’s “Leegro” Stud, Ellesmere, with 9 Charolais averaging $3,528 with a top of $5,250 also going to “Moongool” Stud. Gordon and Barbara Allen’s “Rosecorp” Stud, Cecil Plains topped the Charbrays at $4,750 going to Norm Bonisch of Injune. “Rosecorp” Charolais and Charbrays averaged $3,292. Consistent supporters of the sale, the Ewart Family’s “Norfolk Park,” Murgon, had a complete clearance of their 19 bulls averaging $2,868 with 3 equal tops of $4,000 going to
