CHAROLAIS TOPPED $5,500 AT COOLABUNIA SALE On account of the Ewart Families’, Norfolk Park Charolais, the sire Norfolk Park Companion, a Silverstream Performer milk tooth calf, fetched the top money of $5,500 – purchased by Allery & Sons, Blackbutt. Second top of $4,750 was achieved on three occasions when the Haynes Family of Linville sold River Run Crackerjack, another milk tooth calf to H. Dwyer of Biggenden. David and Helen Reid of Reids Charolais sold two milk tooth sires to Tandora Grazing of Maryborough and V. S. Colley of Yarraman. Topping the Charbray section at $3,250 was the Himstedt’s Glenhills Pastoral and Jim and Michael Connolly’s Emjay Stud, both going to the Nichol Family, Gayndah. Topping the average in Charolais was the Haynes River Run Stud, Linville sold two at $4,250, followed by Greg Blanch’s Pondaova Stud of four at $3,875. New vendors at the sale, Arnie Horwood of Tirroan Stud averaged $3,562 for four head with Reids Charolais averaging $3,438 for four. Overall, 42
Charolais averaged $2,970 and 18 Charbrays averaged $2,472. The Tapsall
Family’s Verdvalo Charbray Dispersal resulted in 21 stud females averaging
$1,533 topping at $2,200 for a PTIC female going to Tom Perrett of
Nanango. Mary Sommerville of Kingaroy secured a lovely line of twelve
females and one bull for an outlay of $21,000. A large crowd holding 70
bid cards witnessed the sale with buyers coming from Dalby, Theodore,
Chinchilla, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Monto, Maryborough, Bundaberg, Brisbane
Valley, Gympie, Biggenden and local areas. |
