DROUGHTIES TOP $6,500
A
large crowd witnessed the 10th Annual South Burnett
Droughtmaster Bull Sale at Coolabunia Stud Selling Complex on
Saturday 27th August.
There was
standing room only with the newly completed permanent grandstands
packed when 71 bulls averaged $3,556, topping at $6,500 to achieve
an 80% clearance.
Topping the
day was JN Wilson & Son’s Truvalle Wicked, a 23 month old son of
Truvalle 3369, fetching $6,500 and snapped up by astute cattle
breeders – the Trott Family Grazing of Mundubbera, who purchased 5
head at the sale averaging $5,250.
2nd
top of the day was Peter and Liz Phillips’ Mary Valley Stud with
Mary Valley First Rate, a 24 month old son of “home grown” Sire
“Almighty”, realizing $6,250 going to interstate buyers, Mark and
Lyn Heyman, Grafton, NSW.
Bryvonlea and
Vale View Studs shared the 3rd top honours of a $6,000
price tag. Top average for the day was the Phillips ‘ Mary Valley
Stud with 6 grossing $30,000 to average $5,000.
Dave Smith of
Vale View Stud had 2 to average $4,875.
Stan and Lyn
Tompkins of Cedar View Stud also has 2 to average at $4,500.
Truvalle Stud
had 6 average $4,292.
Bryvonlea had
6 to average $4,208 while Breffni Stud had 3 average $4,167.
There were
70 bid cards issued, with Buyers coming from -
Roma,
Clermont, Chinchilla, Warwick, Bell, Grafton, Monto, Mundubbera,
Gayndah, Gatton, Coominya, Miva, Gunalda, Gympie, Kenilworth,
Maleny, Brisbane Valley and local areas.
