The new complex will take the sale venue into equal class of any given Queensland location. Some of the major innovations for future sales are

• fully covered sale ring
• seating of approx. 400-500 and
• entertaining area
• 72 large selling pens with water (very similar to Gracemere)
• buyers’ elevated viewing walkway between all pens
• 40 large water yards
• weighing platform
• 5 loading ramps (incl. double-deck facility)
• clearing dip on site

Some 5,000 kms have been travelled traversing the greater part of Sth. Queensland from Lowmead to Maleny, Beaudesert to Darling Downs and into the Miles and Monto districts inspecting suitable bulls for the sale. The selection criteria set down for 2006 has in fact seen the lead of all studs inspected to be part of the 2006 draft bound for the D. & G. LIVESTOCK sale calendar. Bull numbers this year are strong and so is the quality, which will be equal to any sale held in Australia. This year will see a small number of seed stock sires at the sale which would be an asset in any breeder’s stud.

The Saleyards has a kiosk facility, food and drink will be available and this will be operational during Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September.

The seating and sale ring will be all undercover, so come rain or shine most people should find it an improvement on our previous venue.

There will also be a licensed BBQ at the Complex on the evening before the sale (Friday 22nd Sept) and we encourage buyers and vendors to relax and unwind in preparation for the big day.  

A bus will be chartered by D. & G. LIVESTOCK and will be available to pick up guests at their motels and return guests - when the BBQ is finished.
