Nanango
Showgrounds, QLD, will be the venue on Saturday 18th February, 2006 for the
complete dispersal sale of the highly respected "IVANHOE" Stud of
Hugh, Helen, James and Jonathon Faris of Wee Waa, N.S.W.
Hugh and Helen Faris and Family have reluctantly decided to disperse their
Droughtmaster Stud due to family commitments and a desire to enjoy
semi-retirement.
The sale comprises a total of 280 quality registered droughtmasters including approximately
160 Cows and Calves (Mated)
20 1st Calf Heifers and Calves (Mated)
20 Cows (PTIC)
90 Maiden Heifers Unjoined 13-18 mths
6 Stud Sires
10 Selected young Bulls, 2-2.5 yrs
The "IVANHOE" herd has been a member of Group Breedplan since its inception in the early 1990's. A good proportion of cattle carry high EBV averages and figures will be included in the catalogue.
The majority of the cattle are polled and carry a strong influence of SWAN
bloodlines. "IVANHOE" genetics have been sourced by studmasters
far and wide with a top bull price of $22,000 achieved at Rockhampton sales
where they have been regular vendors, including Roma.
Just last week at the 2nd
South Burnett Droughtmaster Female Sale, a Trafalgar female sired by IVANHOE
ENVOY, a SWAN MERLIN calf, achieved the top price of $8,000, going to
Strathfield Stud. A total of 7 IVANHOE ENVOY females averaged $5,043 at
this sale.
All cattle have been blooded with 3 germ blood well in advance of the February
sale and have been innoculated with 7 in 1. Pregnancy test results will be
available on sale day. All cattle are initially from clean country thence ajisted
for 10 days in clean country adjacent to Nanango.
Cattle are also certified free of
Johne's Disease.
Cattle
will be available for inspection from Friday 17th Feb. at the Nanango
SHowgrounds, or at Wee Waa, N.S.W. by appointment with the selling agents,
D.&G. LIVESTOCK. An Open Day is being planned 28th January for
interested parties prior to the sale.

A licensed BBQ
and Entertainment is planned starting 6pm on Friday 17th Feb. at the Showgrounds.
Come early, inspect the cattle and relax afterwards.
